This half-day Water Conservation Workshop will explore how water conservation programs and initiatives can achieve water conservation and efficiency goals.

We will introduce the AUMA Conservation Efficiency & Productivity Plan and showcase water management & conservation initiatives being employed in Alberta and across Canada.

·Town of Cochrane: Water Conservation Rate Structure, Community Based Social Marketing, and Land Use Bylaws

·Town of Okotoks: Water Conservation for Sustainability

·City of Calgary: 30% by 30 years for 2033 a Water Efficiency Plan

·Ontario: Water Opportunities Act (Bill 72) and the legislative incentives for water conservation

·Okanagan Water Basin Board: Water Conservation Tools

Participants will also participate in a facilitated development of locally relevant Water Management Toolkits appropriate to short and long-term water management objectives.

Workshop Facilitator: Lisa Maria Fox is an experienced Water Resource Manager with a professional background that includes municipal environmental management and provincial policy development. Lisa is also an active volunteer with the Bow River Basin Council and the Alberta Water Council.
