This one day course focuses on tools and techniques to identify and assess a project's partners/stakeholders needs, wants and expectations. Attention is paid to partners/stakeholders spheres of influence, including strategies to mitigate or enhance such influences. Based on a environmental project case study, participants will identify impacts of partner/stakeholder requirements to the project's scope.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have the confidence and the skills to prepare and present a Partner /Stakeholder Matrix, will be able to:

•    Demonstrate a basic understanding of Partners/Stakeholders
•    Be familiar with current approaches, techniques and systems for managing Partners/Stakeholders
•    Understand the Project Partners/Stakeholder Consultation Process
•    Understand concepts, tools and techniques that will allow them to communicate more effectively

The course is given in workshop fashion. Theory is explained, followed by an exercise to demonstrate its application and reinforce its meaning. Exercises are conducted in a team format, thereby enhancing participant team-building knowledge and skills. Participants benefit from being able to conduct peer reviews and practicing presentation skills in an informal, forgiving, learning environment. Peer reviews are an integral part of the workshop, and result in a very positive and meaningful learning experience.
